lyrics

An hour has past that I’m never getting back.
I’m a ship lost at sea. No search party bothered to come for me.

A forgotten soul with my grave marked unknown.
I’m the chill that’s so deep it bites your bones.
Hollowed and empty like a rotting oak,
I fall apart as I decompose.
Powerless against old habits, I know
They’ll wrap their fingers right around my throat.

I’m becoming a shell of the person I was,
A play in an empty theater with no applause.
A wanderer with no home nowhere to belong.
Fired because the job was done all wrong.

There’s that feeling you get when someone is watching you but no one is there.
The doorknobs rattle when you’re home alone. Footsteps that no one can claim are theirs.

I’m the ghost that haunts your halls
The creaks and silence the house breathing through its walls.

I’m the absence of sleep at night
The morning after blacking out, so confused and contrite.

My show is over, its been going on for twenty years too long.
I’ll bow out silently, so no one will even notice that I’ve gone.
